Hi, I'm Theo Braune

PhD Graduate in Computer Science in IP-Paris/ École Polytechnique/ Inria

In my work I focus on computational differential geometry, especially discrete exterior calculus. We work on extensions to discrete vector bundle valued forms and its possible applications.

  • We had one article accepted at SIGGRAPH 2025

I am happy to share that our work "Discrete Torsion of Connection Forms on Simplicial Meshes" with Mark Gillespie, Yiying Tong and Mathieu Desbrun got accepted at SIGGRAPH 2025.

  • I started my internship in the Adobe Research Paris lab

In the following months I work with Jean-Marc Thiery and Jeremie Dumas on efficient solvers for spectral problems in geometry processing.

  • We put our article about discrete exterior calculus for bundle valued forms on arXiv. Check it out here.

In this work we present a structure preserving discrete description of bundle valued exterior calculus. We introduce a discrete covariant exterior derivative that satisfies the Bianchi Identities and converges in the limit under mesh refinement.

  • I started my PhD position in October 2022

I work under the supervision of Mathieu Desbrun in close collaboration with Yiying Tong from MSU and François Gay-Balmaz from NTU on extensions for discrete exterior calculus and possible applications. I interned at Adobe Research in 2025 under the mentorship of Jean-Marc Thiery.
